1. Reading, reading and more reading.
I got back from an outing yesterday, and brought home ten books from the library. I've read one, started three others, but keep losing my focus. Rachel Caine's Glass Houses just couldn't keep me interested, same with Silver Bough by Lisa Tuttle, so I had to settle for Night Lost by Lynn Viehl, which I managed to finish, and now I'm onto Fool Moon by Jim Butcher. I tell myself it's research since I'm writing in this genre, but I know I'm really procrastinating.
I think I'll go dye my hair, and outline after dinner...

to recap, I was stupid on Friday night (like, half an hour after I posted on LJ) and sprained my ankle. It's much better now, but dam it hurt! The worst part was that the ice pack wasn't in the freezer, so I ended up with frozen zuchini loaf on my ankle instead. On the plus side, the loaf was very yummy!
It threw off my plans for the weekend; couldn't stand on a ladder to string up the outside lights, but my mom and I did manage to get the tree up today and my kids helped to decorate it. The stockings are hung on the mantel over the gas fireplace, and it's finally starting to look xmasy here (and yeah, even in my head, I say xmas).
It also threw off my plans for writing; couldn't sit at the pc and write when my ankle needed to be up.
In a complete segue, I adore iLike on Facebook; I use the Music Challenge to listen to music, so I can find new bands to listen to. My prezzie list is ever expanding!

I was listening to Freestyle on CBC radio, and caught Tod Maffin talking about being a podcaster, and the stuff he does online. Now, seeing as I have been (and will be again!!) a podcaster, I decided to check out his site. Well, he had a twitter. And now I do too. Talk about pointless yet endlessly amusing ways to spend time online!

Anyway, I was surfing my friend's blog, and he has a link to this interview with David Duke. Scary scary scary, I can't say enough 'scary's, man.

Anyway, I worked three nights in a row, which isn't the norm, lol, and it was a lot harder than I'd have thought. and then I realized; I take care of my kids during the day, so figure in 7-9 hrs there, then 4-6 of walking/bending/washing/etc of being a deli grrl. So if I'm having a 'lazy' day, on days I go into the grocery store I can end up at midnight with a minimum of 11 hours of work during the day. Tuesday I worked 11 hrs, wednesday I did 14, and thursday I did 13. Only getting paid for the deli work, of course. Life was much easier as a SAHM, sigh.
I decided to spurge, and spent half my pay cheque. The other half will go towards bills, so that's okay. Next pay cheque I won't spend any of it on myself, so I'm not too concerned. I probably won't again till after the new year, since I now have 3 pairs of work pants, and soon I'll be getting a second work shirt (through the store). woohoo! Anyway, in addition to my third pair of work pants, I also bought a cute red top and my first pair jeans in a decade. Wow.

let's see. I spent a lot of the weekend out handing out resumes. I know, on the weekend? Sigh. B is really pushing for me to get a job, and given our financial state, I can't really blame him. However, weekends aren't generally a great time to hand out resumes. Still, if a place is open on the weekend, then I can definately get a job there; evenings and weekends are all I can work anyway
Emotionally, I was find *during* the resume drop offs. It was after that I had my anxiety attack. I think it's the idea of having to wait for phone calls. Guh.
Oh, and I downloaded msn messenger live, or however it goes, so I can talk about nano with other online writers, lol. So far, I've mostly been chatting with an old friend from Kamloops, who is also doing nano.
I've managed to also do a bit of prework for the novel. Not an outline, but giving myself suggestions on scenes, character motivations, etc. I hope it helps.
