sometimes, I wish I were single....
my now separated friend is having loads of fun playing with internet personals, which makes me wish I could throw one together as well. of course, being in a nice, loving relationship sure is nice too. lol.
i tried to convince a single male friend of ours to let me put together an ad for him; he said no once he realized I was serious. For some bizarre reason, he seems to think that because I tease him in person (he gives as good as he gets), that I'll do it as some sort of mean prank. sheesh. I don't believe in that kind of cruelty. I was an introverted, dateless teen. No way in Hel I'd ever do that to anyone, even my worse enemy.
I got to help my seperated friend do hers; that'll have to satisfy my need to create a profile!!!

I still have to get my last two checks. Sam says I'll get them before the 13th because the woman who issues them is going on holidays then. fingers crossed!!!
oh, and our new headboard is arriving on thursday! yay!!! we bought it in May, but it was seriously back ordered. we were told june, but obviously, that wasn't right.
and I finally finished Chindi by McDevitt. whew. I took out a whole bunch of books by nebula award winners, looking for new sci-fi authors to read. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really do it for me. It's pace wasn't quite what I've come to expect for an action-ish scifi. I'm going to try Engines of the Gods or Omega, and see how those fly.
While I was wading through chindi, I also read Light Music by Goonan, the Moon and The Sun by Vonda McIntyre & Tithe by Holly Black. They're all pretty good, though I'll be taking on the next Black book first, then maybe another McIntyre.
Presently I'm rereading Magic Steps by Tamora Pierce. I reread the first quartet a week ago, as well as the new empress one (can't remember the title), and so I'm happily reading the second quartet again. ah. T Pierce is *such* a good writer!
