I don't know why, it's not like I have to or anything, but generally I just can't resist a meme. ganked from [info]autographedcat.

1. Who was your first prom date?
I never had one.  I was a book geek, and didn't know anyone at the new high school I was going to when I graduated (around here, juniors don't have proms).  I got 'prominaded' by my Uncle in the official grad march.

2. Who was your first roommate?
my then boyfriend bob, and his roommates Jay and Chris.  I sort of unofficially moved in with them in student housing.

3. What alcoholic beverage did you drink when you got drunk the first time?
Hmmm, it's been long enough that I'm not quite sure... but i think it was whiskey.  I'd been sent out to a cousin's for the summer, to keep another cousin (not actually mine) company for the summer.  We were... twelve or thirteen, she was from Toronto, and had been sent away for a few weeks to get her away from Trouble.  Yeah, like that worked.  She picked up cute young things, we all drank, and got our mutual cousin plastered for the first time in his life.  Ah, sweet youth.  And of course we were caught, and I totally blamed it on her.  I was terrified.

4. What was your first job?
babysitting.  My and my friend Leah babysat for the high school band teacher.  I was... thirteen?  He ordered us pizza and overpaid us.

5. What was your first car?
a silvery blue hyundai excel.  four door hatchback, '86ish.  We bought it with wedding money, so that would be 1998.  it was a piece of cr&p, but it did the job.  died on us about three years later, half way up a major hill in Kamloops.  It wasn't worth repairing, and we couldn't even sell it for scrap; the yards were full of excels.

6. When did you go to your first funeral?
I was about sixteen, I think.  My grandfather had died when I was much younger, but I wasn't allowed to go to the funeral; it wasn't a good idea, really, since i was so upset, I ended up blocking all memory of my grandfather anyway.  At sixteen, my piano teacher died.  We all went to the catholic church for the funeral, and then to her house (which my aunt owned) for the wake.  She had no family left, few real friends, so it was mostly us students and our families who came.  I think she would have liked it that way though, she was an amazingly strong woman, and I just wished I'd been less... superficial at the time.  At the wake, her personal possessions were all displayed; people could take what they wanted to remember her by, and the rest would go to Goodwill.  I still have the german calligraphy picture up on my living room wall.

7. How old were you when you first moved away from your hometown?
I was sixteen when we moved to Kamloops, where I went for my final year of high school.

8. Who was your first grade teacher?
I can't remember, and don't feel like trying to look it up.  I do remember Mrs. Vigue, my grade 2 teacher though.

9. Where did you go on your first ride on an airplane?
Toronto.  We were visiting relatives who lived out east when I was very little.

10. When you snuck out of your house for the first time, who was it with?
the closest I ever came to sneaking out was to occasionally slip outside for cigarettes.  the sad part?  I think I was twenty...  I was either alone, or with my old high school chum Leah.

11. Who was your first Best Friend and are you still friends?
My first best friend was Leah.  we met when I was thirteen, and were close friends until we were in our early twenties.  After a while, though, the distances between our lives became more than geographical, and now we're more aquaintances.

12. Where was your first sleepover?
I was in elementary school, so I must have been between eight and ten.  I stayed over with my friend Lori Stucky, and her older sisters Lana and Lisa.

13. Who is the first person you call when you have a problem?
Bob.  he's my bestfriend as well as being my husband.

14. Whose wedding were you in the first time you were a bridesmaid or groomsmen?
The first and only time was when i was a teen, probably seventeen, and was a bridesmaid for my uncle's wedding.

15. What is the first thing you do in the morning?
burrow my face deeper into the pillow, and hope the world goes away.

16. What was the first concert you ever went to?
some small band that was playing at the high school; I had their poster for years, but I couldn't tell you what their name was, lol.

17. First tattoo or piercing?
My ears.  I got them done when I was twelve, and they used one of those stupid guns, which meant they got infected, etc.  I had to have them redone a few times.  I have yet to get a tattoo; sometimes I think about it.

18. First celebrity crush?
well, I faked a crush on the bassist of Glass Tiger so my friends would think I was as adult as they were (yeah, whatever), but my first real crush was on Ned Vaughn, who was one of the teens in the movie The Rescue (1988).  Because of him, I've always had a soft spot for redheads...

19. Age of first real kiss with tongue?
Fourteen, I think.  My friends and I had volunteered to take part in a hair show (hey, free haircuts!) and some boys from the neighbouring town had decided to join in.  Mmmm, a sloppy but nice kiss when one of the boys drove me home.  Never saw him again, but I still remember that clearly!

20. First crush?
Boy named Devan, in grade eleven.  He was a bit of cretin, but I thought he was cute in a puppish sort of way.  Plus, he had red hair...   It never went anywhere, and he died a year after high school.

21. First REAL love?
That's easy.  Bob.  Met and hung out with him for a couple of months while he dated a friend, then after a weekend trip to my first SCA event, we moved in together.  Been going strong for nine years this August, so something seems to be working.
