okay, so I was nanoveling last night, reached 7112 words. Today when I got on the pc, all the stuff I wrote yesterday was gone! Back down to 5607, mega heart breaking. I spent a couple of hours racked with anxiety, then faced the inevitable and started rewriting it all. Got about 1000 words back, then took a break for dinner and putting the kids to bed.

I goofed off for ages, then started getting ready to rumble. Now, I work on the novel on two different computers, the desktop and the laptop. All of my rewrites were on the laptop, so I opened up the file on the desktop to arrange a copy over.

And found all the text that had previously disappeared right back were it's supposed to be.


Argh!


So on the plus side, everything's back. On the downside, I wrote a 1000 words I mostly can't use since it's a rewrite.
