I'd love to update on my life, but so much weird and crappy shit has happened, and I just don't feel comfortable posting much of it, so I'll let it lie. I'll do some book reviews instead, cuz godz know, I read enough!
Alternatively, I've just read the first four Simon R. Green nightside novels, and I have to say, they're pretty good, assuming you can ignore the numerous repeated sentences. I find I like it better than the Harry Dresden novels because the main character doesn't whine as much and the plots are smoother, but less, because Jim Butcher's a bit better a writer.
Urban Shaman by something Murphy is very good, considering it's a first novel *and* published by Luna. Okay, I know, I shouldn't be prejudiced against Luna, they've done a wonderful job so far; I just can't get over the fact that they're a Harlequin branch. I keep expecting them to do something drippy.
What else... Midnight Rain by Holly Lisle was very good, on par with Sleeping with the Enemy (the book, not the movie), a little more violent, and I liked the tarot reading in it.
