So I finally picked a new name for the kitty, it seems Isis stuck with her best, given that everyone in the house started calling her that within a few hours of it being suggested. I was kind of leaning towards Malibu myself, but hey, Isis works for me, and it's a goddess name. Maybe I'll get a rep as a fluffy bunny; wait, I aready have one of those cuz I'm not wiccan. Damn. (I just love the local pagans).
Lucky girl (the cat, that is) gets to be fixed this friday, so this weekend doesn't look too happy for her. Oh well, it's much much *much* better than letting her breed. There's way too many kittens out there as it is.
I'm thinking of doing some volunteer work at the local SPCA. There's never enough people to do everything, and never enough money to get it done. And I feel so sad for the animals, stuck in there for months or even years. Our province has a no-kill policy, so it really helps when people go an extra mile to help the animals. If I could, I'd take home older cats, but that'll have to wait till the kids are a lot older and less likely to torture (unintentionally or otherwise) the cats. Isis deals pretty well with being picked up, hugged and having her tail pulled pretty well, all things considered, and my 4 year old only has half a dozen scratches, which just goes to show how good natured my cat really is.
Still no battery for the camera, darn it. Might pick one up this weekend, depends on how much money we have left after Isis goes to the vet.
