why is it that when I whine and bitch on LJ, less than a day later everyone in my life begins to be reasonable and kind (barring my kids who are rarely reasonable but often kind)?

the day after my boohoo post, my mom appologizes and tells me I can get a cat. My husband realizes he still wants to be my best friend, and just wants me to get a social life. I can live with that. I made a deal with my mother; she would pick a daily/or weekly favor in exchange for doing the majority of the kitty litter changing, as well my husband.

so once again I'm suitably sheepish, and trying to keep my LJ on the upbeat, and away from the melodramatic crap. what can I say, my element is water.

so... my eldest and I went to the spca today and 2 hours later came out with a pretty little grey and white cat. She's perfect, very loving, a little bit spacey and was at home within minutes of bringing her in the door. she doesn't replace my Dana, but she sure brightens the house up. Except, of course, when she's trying to cuddle while I'm typing and tries to stick her butt in my face.

anyways, now we're trying to pick a name for her. I've narrowed it down to goddess names; lol, every fluffy bunny pagan has a 'colourful' familiar name and it tickles me to give one to my cat. Will she be a familiar? I don't know, but she'll be a great companion and champion cuddler so I can't complain.

when I get a new battery for the digital camera, we'll take a few shots of her and upload them to show off.
